1966: Ibiza airport welcomes its first international flights.
1973: 500 000 annual tourists.
1973: The Pacha nightclub opens in Ibiza Town.
1978: Café del Mar opens in the Sant Antoni resort.

1989: UK tabloid paper The Sun describes Ibiza as “ecstasy island.”
1999: 2 million annual tourists.
2008: 2.3 million annual tourists.
