San Antonio
Like all modern ‘Mediterreanan resorts, San Antonio started out as a local fishing village in the 1960s. After a while tour operators and tourists started to take interest in the place and hotels and apartment blocks started to rise.

In the 1980s the British tourists took over and San Antonio became a place for pubs and clubs, plenty of fast food, and also a lot of puke and piss. The resort had a reputation of low class alcohol fuelled tourism. This has faded over the years. The local council took action and built new areas with nicer hotels, improved the infrastructure, built the “sunset strip” where Cafe del Mar is the best known restaurant.
West End
Today San Antonio is a place for different people. The brits still enjoy the pubs and nightlife in the town’s West End district, in the Carrer De Santa Agnes and surrounding streets.

Chic
The “chicer” side of San Antonio is at Cafe del Mar and similar places. The prices are higher and the atmosphere is more continental and luxurious than in the jolly West End district.
