My Formentera PhotosOn 30th of October 2009 I enjoyed a day of cycling on Formentera. Formentera is a small island in the Balearics, it has no airport, but is only a 30 minute ferry trip from Ibiza. The island is very small and you'll be able to cycle around it in one day if you're reasonable fit, as you can also see for yourself, it's a very pretty island and it was a joy to experience:
From Ibiza to Formentera
I jumped on the ferry in Figueretes (Close to Ibiza town) at 9.30 AM. This is a photo taken when I am standing on the ferry and watching towards Ibiza Town.
And arrived safely on Formentera 45 minutes later (yes, they were late, but no one seemed to mind). Es Pujols
I arrived in Port Savina, rented a bicycle and started my trip. The first town after Port Savina was Es Pujols which is the island's only resort town with a few hotels and a selection of restaurants.
Cycling from Port Savina, via Es Pujols to Faro de la Mola
Typical Formentera: A beach near Calo de Sant Agusti. The ice-cream booth was closed for the season.
Arrived in Faro de la Mola, but there was not much to see, but this lighthouse..
A nice viewpoint on the way back to Port Savina. A bus full of Spanish tourists (from the mainland) were enjoying the view.
I stopped and enjoyed the view at another beach. This beach is Platja de Migjorn. Platja des Illetes
Platja des Illetes is a lagoon-ish beach just outside Port Savina.
Someone had a good year.
Great cycle paths on the island.
Yes, the there's a certain hippie-flavour to the island. This photo is taken back in Port Savina.
I hope you enjoyed the photos from Formentera. Feel free to visit my Ibiza blog. |
